1. INTRODUCTION & INSTITUTIONAL OBJECTIVE
The Board of Naturopathy and Yoga Systems of Medicine (hereinafter referred to as “BNYSM”) is an educational and training-oriented body engaged in the promotion, dissemination, and structured learning of Yoga and Naturopathy.
BNYSM operates with the objective of encouraging awareness regarding natural, non-invasive, and lifestyle-based health practices in society, strictly within the framework of applicable educational and legal norms. This document constitutes the official policy, conduct guidelines, and legal disclaimer framework applicable to all students, study centres, trainers, and associated persons.
2. LEGAL STATUS & SCOPE OF ACTIVITIES
- BNYSM functions as an educational/training institution engaged in certificate-based academic programs in Yoga and Naturopathy.
- The scope of BNYSM is strictly limited to:
- Academic instruction and training
- Certificate-based educational programs
- Awareness and skill development in Yoga and Naturopathy
- BNYSM does not function as a statutory medical licensing authority, nor does it authorize independent medical practice under any system of medicine.
3. CERTIFICATION POLICY & DEGREE DISCLAIMER
- BNYSM expressly clarifies that:
- It does NOT award any academic degree (Degree) under any circumstances.
- It does NOT claim or represent itself as a degree-granting university or statutory medical council.
- All programs conducted by BNYSM are strictly Certificate Courses only.
- Any misrepresentation, advertisement, or communication suggesting that BNYSM issues degrees shall be treated as unauthorized and contrary to institutional policy.
4. BNYS COURSE ADMISSION STATUS
- BNYSM hereby declares that admissions to BNYS (Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences) course have been suspended with effect from the year 2018 onwards.
- No new admissions are being undertaken in BNYS program until further official notification.
- Re-commencement of the said program shall be considered only upon receipt of appropriate regulatory/administrative guidelines from competent authorities.
5. STATUS OF PRE-2018 STUDENTS
- Students who were duly enrolled in BNYS course up to the year 2018 and admitted in the first year of study have completed or shall complete their academic requirements as per institutional records.
- All certificates and academic records issued to such enrolled candidates shall be treated as valid for academic recognition within the scope of the institution’s certification framework.
6. STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT & PROFESSIONAL ETHICS
- Scope Limitation: Yoga and Naturopathy shall be practiced only as supportive and complementary wellness systems. These systems shall not be treated as substitutes for any established medical treatment.
- Prohibition of Cross-Pathy: Practitioners shall not engage in Cross-Pathy practice under any circumstance. Use of medicines, instruments, or methods outside the scope of training is strictly prohibited.
- Patient Safety Obligations: No patient shall be misled or given false assurance of cure. In all serious, emergency, or critical cases, immediate referral to a registered medical practitioner or government-approved hospital is mandatory.
- Ethical Treatment Approach: Only supportive natural methods such as lifestyle correction, diet guidance, sun exposure, air therapy, water therapy, and related naturopathic principles shall be used within training limits.
- Prohibition of Misleading Claims: Claims of “guaranteed cure”, “permanent elimination of disease”, or similar assertions are strictly prohibited. No assurance shall be given regarding terminal, chronic, or complex diseases.
7. PROFESSIONAL AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE
- All students and centres shall comply with applicable laws of Government of India and respective State Governments.
- Practitioners shall ensure that their activities do not violate:
- Indian Penal Code (as applicable laws)
- Information Technology laws (where relevant)
- Medical ethics regulations
- Local administrative health guidelines
- BNYSM disclaims responsibility for any unauthorized or independent acts of individuals beyond institutional training scope.
8. USE OF DESIGNATION / TITLE
- No student or practitioner is permitted to use the prefix “Doctor” unless specifically authorized under applicable statutory medical law.
- Any misleading representation of qualification or professional status is strictly prohibited and may attract disciplinary and legal consequences.
9. RESTRICTED ACTIVITIES
- Practice of any medical system outside authorized training scope
- Possession or use of unauthorized medicinal substances or equipment
- False advertising or misleading patient communication
- Commercial exploitation of patients through false medical claims
10. LEGAL DISCLAIMER & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
- BNYSM is an educational body and does not provide or endorse any form of independent medical treatment authority.
- All students, practitioners, and centres operate at their own professional responsibility and accountability.
- BNYSM shall not be held liable for:
- Any misuse of training
- Misrepresentation by individuals or centres
- Independent clinical decisions taken outside prescribed guidelines
- Any violation of these guidelines may result in disciplinary action including cancellation of enrollment, certification, or affiliation without prior notice.

This document is issued in good faith for the purpose of ensuring:
